ONE STORY AWARD was founded on the philosophy of Shin-Shin-Bi-Zai — the belief that true beauty is born from the harmony of mind and body.
We created this platform to bridge Japan and the world, opening doors for cultural exchange, language discovery, and personal growth — for every woman, at every stage of life.
Born in 2022 as a celebration of life stories, ONE STORY AWARD believes that every person carries a unique narrative worth sharing. This contest is not just about modeling — it is about the courage to step forward, challenge yourself, and grow.

ONE STORY AWARD is proud to partner with Japanese fashion designer Shun Oyama for an exclusive runway presentation.
Each finalist will have the opportunity to wear and represent a look from Shun’s collection — bringing his creative vision to life on the Manhattan stage.
What is ONE STORY AWARD?
ONE STORY AWARD was created under the motto “Shin-Shin-Bi-Zai” (mental and physical beauty) to expand learning opportunities from Japan to the world for language and cultural exchange and to create a place where everyone, regardless of age or environment, can challenge themselves and continue to learn and grow.

Any age, any nationality. No experience required — just your story and your presence.
Fashion Show
Walk the runway at Cine Play, Manhattan — a live show where your presence tells the world who you are.
Global Stage
An international platform bridging New York and Japan — connecting two of the world's greatest fashion cultures.
Career Growth
Winners receive real opportunities to level up their modeling career and experience Japanese culture firsthand.
How We Judge
Final Round: Each model will walk twice on the runway.
– First walk: Show your own styling (self-styled outfit).
– Second walk: Walk while wearing a look from Shun’s collection and represent the designer’s vision.
1. Runway Walk (Posture & Movement)
・Confidence, rhythm, posture, and how they carry themselves
・Ability to walk in a way that fits the brand or concept
2. Posing Skills
・Variety and control in posing during photoshoots or on stage
・Expression of emotion and personality through body language
3. Styling Sense
・How well they dress themselves to match the contest theme or concept
・Creativity, individuality, and coordination
4. Visual Appearance
・Unique features, facial expression, body balance, and cleanliness
・Overall impression and potential as a model
5. Expression & Personality
・Presence, originality, and ability to stand out naturally
・How well they communicate who they are through their look and actions
6. Presentation of Designer’s Collection
How well they wear, walk in, and represent someone else’s clothing
Understanding of the brand’s vibe and ability to elevate the piece through their modeling
